Patients and citizens

Two of the main trends in the health world during the past years are related to the demand of a larger individual co-responsibility in the management of health and with the transition of health systems towards a person-cenered care model.

The patients and citizens area of the Foundation has as main objectives developing training activities, as well as dissemination and research oriented towards:

  • Promoting the acquisition of competences -knowledge, abilities and attitudes- that allow patients and citizens a more adequate managing of their own health.
  • Attend to and answer in an adequate way the informative needs of patients and citizens that complicate their participation in decision-making about their own health.
  • Bring together the perception, values and experience of patients and citizens about health care.
