We perform applied research with a multidisciplinary focus on ageing and patients/citizens
The main goal of research on ageing is disability prevention. The two major fields that we tackle are the physical and cognitive spheres. We work on all the older population continuum, from healthy elderly all the way up to people with severe dependency, both institutionalised and in the community
Research on citizens is centered around priorities and needs of patients, as well as the health professionals vision.
Out main research strands are:
- Health in the elderly
- Social and health care services for the elderly and the disabled
- Active ageing promotion
- ICT applications in the field of ageing
- Values, expectations and needs of patients and citizens
- Health professionals' vision
The Fundació Salut i Envelliment has experience in the application of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Observational studies help to understand processes in order to design intervention studies.
The Foundation's research strands are mainly funded through public R+D+i from european, spanish and catalan institutions.
Private entities such as Agrupació Mútua, "La Caixa " Foundation or Catalunya Caixa, among others, also support our activites
The Health and Ageing Foundation researchers participate in several international and domestic networks an workgroups.
